InnerField Psychotherapy (“InnerField,” “the Practice,” “I,” or “my”) is an Ontario-based practice providing virtual psychotherapy. It is operated by Irina Carayannis, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit this website, contact the Practice, book an appointment, or become a client.
By using this website, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Privacy Contact
Irina Carayannis is the health information custodian and privacy contact for InnerField Psychotherapy. Personal health information is handled in accordance with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA) and the standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).

3. Information Collected Through This Website
When you contact the Practice, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, and a short message.
Please do not include detailed clinical or health information in the contact form or ordinary email.
Like most websites, this site may automatically collect basic technical information, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of a visit. The site may use cookies or similar technologies for functionality, security, and general traffic analysis. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
4. How Information Is Used
Information is used to:

5. Service Providers
The Practice uses trusted third-party providers for functions such as website hosting, email, scheduling, secure video, client records, billing, and payment processing. Jane is the practice-management platform used for booking, forms, video sessions, records, and receipts.
These providers operate under their own privacy policies. Some may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
6. Client Information
If you become a client, information relating to your care is personal health information under PHIPA. It is collected, used, and shared only with your consent or as the law permits or requires. The details, including confidentiality and its limits, are set out in the consent documents you receive before therapy begins.
7. Access and Correction
You have the right under PHIPA to request access to your personal health information and to ask for a correction if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete, subject to limited legal exceptions.
Requests can be sent to irina@innerfieldpsychotherapy.ca and are handled within the timelines PHIPA sets. The Practice may need to verify your identity before releasing information.
8. Retention and Security
Clinical records are kept for at least 10 years after the last contact with a client, or 10 years after a client’s 18th birthday, whichever is later, as CRPO standards require, and are then disposed of securely. Website inquiries that do not lead to therapy are kept only as long as reasonably needed.
Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are used to protect information, including password protection, encryption where available, and restricted access. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If a privacy breach affecting your personal health information occurs, you will be notified as the law requires.
9. Electronic Communication
Email, text messages, website forms, and social media carry privacy risks that are outside the Practice’s control, such as interception, misdirected messages, technical failures, or another person accessing your device or account. Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed for ordinary electronic communication, so please do not use these channels to share detailed personal or health information.
10. Children
This website is intended for adults, including parents and guardians. The Practice does not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website.
11. Emergencies
This website, email, contact form, voicemail, and social-media accounts are not monitored continuously and are not emergency services.
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department. If you are thinking about suicide, or are worried about someone who may be, call or text 9-8-8, the Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24 hours a day across Canada.
12. No Therapeutic Relationship
Visiting this website, sending a message, or requesting or booking a consultation does not establish a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins only after the Practice has agreed to provide services and the intake and informed-consent process is complete.
Information on this website is general in nature and is not a substitute for individual assessment, psychotherapy, medical advice, or emergency care.

This website may link to other websites and resources. InnerField Psychotherapy is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of sites it does not operate.
14. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always posted on this website with its effective date.
